Our Careteam

Jamie
Veterinary Technician
Jamie has been part of the veterinary field for 15 years. Born and raised in Louisville Kentucky, she recently moved to Carmel and was so happy to find a job in the field she adores. Her hobbies include playing video games, attending comic book conventions, cosplaying, and drinking lots of coffee :)
She looks forward to meeting all the precious pets that come thru our doors.
Anya
Reception Customer Care
Anya and her Iggy, Oliver Oxen Elsner, are quite the inseparable pair. They both enjoy long walks on the beach, tons of snuggles and cuddles, and occasionally enjoy sharing a pup cup on car rides. On a typical night, you can find Anya crafting homemade dog collars while Olly Oxen is snuggled up in a cozy blanket. Their favorite pastimes are playing fetch for hours upon hours before crashing and taking a long nap together.
Julie Lease
Veterinary Technician
Julie has always loved animals. Growing up in New Palestine, Indiana, she was surrounded by a large variety of pets. She had horses, dogs, rabbits, ducks, a pony named “Jinglebells”, and two Seahorses named “Sonny and Cher”. If she wasn’t playing with the animals, Julie was either drawing dogs and horses, or reading everything about them that she could get her hands on. It was this wide variety of pets and experiences that shaped her love for animals that still continues to this day.

Julie’s family moved to Greenfield, Indiana, where over the years their pets included three Poodles, and a Golden Retriever. She graduated from Greenfield Central High School before starting her college education at Ball Sate University with a double major in Fine Arts and Psychology. After moving to the north side of Indianapolis, Julie eventually graduated from IUPUI with a B.S. in Psychology and continued her artistic projects on the side as a hobby. She has been commissioned to paint dog portraits, and in 2000 won first place at the Indiana State Fair Fine Arts Division for one of her many animal portraits.

Julie currently lives in Carmel, Indiana with her husband, Tom. Every year they contribute to the Hamilton County Humane Society, and highly recommend their services for those looking to adopt a pet. Julie loves to cook, make jewelry, and is an avid fan of the Colts and IU basketball.

Prior to joining the Cottage Animal Clinic of Carmel as a receptionist and veterinary assistant, Julie taught pre-school and has over twenty years of experience in the hospitality/customer service industry. From there she went on to work in two different Indianapolis area psychology clinics. She is very excited to now be a part of the Cottage Animal Clinic and looks forward to getting to know each and every one of you as part of our new clinic family of pet friends and patients!
Sophia Strong
Veterinary Technician
Sophie was born in Southern California but only lived there until 2002. She spent 8 years living abroad in first Tokyo, Japan then Paris, France before moving back to the states. She went to high school in Nashville, Tennessee and then moved up to Indiana to go to undergrad at Purdue University.

While she was there, she swam for Boilermaker Aquatics her freshman year and rode on the Purdue Equestrian team her sophomore – senior years. She graduated recently with a BS in Animal Sciences and a minor in Microbiology. She is currently taking some time off school to learn how to be an adult before she goes back to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine.

Before Sophie graduated she almost exclusively worked with large animals, particularly enjoying dairy and equine medicine. After working at a small animal clinic in Indianapolis right after college, she has gained a new appreciation for our smaller four legged friends and is looking forward to continuing to work with them at Cottage!

In her spare time she enjoys swimming, riding horses, drawing, and hiking, but especially hanging out with her critters – Donald, Ivanka, and Tiffany the cats, Tippecanoe (Tippy) the dog, and Linguini the Snake!
